Zelpa

Terms of Service

Effective October 24, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Steven Manson, 134 Claridge Court, North Chesterfield, VA 23235, USA ("Zelpa," "we," "us"), for use of the Zelpa Discord bot and related services. Contact: support@zelpa.fyi. A separate license will cover the Zelpa Personal app when it launches.

By adding Zelpa to a Discord server or using its commands, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Zelpa.

1. What Zelpa is

Zelpa is a Discord bot that produces short, source-linked summaries of channel conversation ranges and of shared files, on request, and answers follow-up questions about those summaries. Zelpa processes text transiently: submitted messages and files are held in memory only long enough to produce a summary and are never stored. How Zelpa handles data is described in the Zelpa Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

2. Who may use Zelpa

You must meet Discord's minimum age and other eligibility requirements and comply with Discord's Terms of Service. If you add Zelpa to a server, you represent that you have the authority in that server to do so.

3. Your content stays yours

You and your fellow server members keep all rights in your messages and files. You give Zelpa only the narrow permission needed to read what a command points at, process it transiently to produce a summary, and display that summary in Discord. Zelpa claims no ownership of your content or of summaries of it, and — by design — retains no copy of either.

4. Acceptable use

• Do not use Zelpa to summarize content you have no right to access.
• Do not attempt to evade Zelpa's usage limits (for example, by rotating accounts or servers) or to interfere with the service for others.
• Do not use Zelpa for unlawful purposes, and do not submit content that it is unlawful for you to share.
• Server admins are responsible for which channels they make available to Zelpa; admins can block channels, and any user may opt out of inclusion in summaries.

Zelpa may refuse or stop a summary that cannot be produced (for example, a file type Zelpa does not read — spreadsheets, scanned documents and images, archives, and old binary document formats are refused in plain words) or that would breach these Terms.

5. Free tier and limits

Zelpa's free tier gives each Discord server a shared daily allowance of 500,000 summarized characters per day, first come, first served across that server's members, subject to a service-wide daily cost backstop. A summary run that begins while allowance remains will be allowed to finish; the next run after the allowance is exhausted will be refused with an explanation until the allowance resets. Limits meter the volume of use, never the subject matter of what is summarized. Zelpa may adjust free-tier allowances on reasonable notice posted at zelpa.fyi.

6. Paid plans

Paid features, when offered, are sold through Discord's Premium Apps program at the prices shown in Discord at purchase. Payment, billing, renewal, and refunds for Premium Apps purchases are handled by Discord under Discord's terms; Zelpa receives a revenue share from Discord. Paid allowances work the same way as the free tier — as a volume allowance with a soft cap (a run in progress always finishes) — applied per the plan purchased.

7. Availability

Zelpa is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Zelpa may be paused for maintenance (including during updates) and may change over time. We work to keep the service reliable and its limits predictable, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation, and summaries may occasionally be unavailable, incomplete, or wrong. Summaries are machine-generated: check the linked sources before relying on a summary for anything important.

8. No warranty; limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zelpa disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and Zelpa's liability arising from the service is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or your statutory consumer rights.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access to Zelpa for breach of these Terms, for abuse of the service's limits or infrastructure, or where required by law or by Discord's policies. You may stop using Zelpa at any time; server admins may remove the bot from a server at any time. Because Zelpa stores no user content, removal ends processing immediately, and operational metadata is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these Terms

Changes will be posted at zelpa.fyi with a new effective date before they take effect. Continuing to use Zelpa after a change takes effect means you accept the changed Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
